Welcome!

Hey there and welcome to my blog. My name is Dylan Bams and I am a Team Canada soccer player that will be competing in Russia this summer at the 2013 FISU Games. This blog will document my experiences as I attempt to make my dreams turn into a reality. Thank you for showing interest in my dream!

My Story:

I’m a 22 year old student athlete from the small town of Fanny Bay, British Columbia. I currently attend the University of Toronto and have started for 5 seasons with the Varsity Soccer Team. This year, I was selected out of hundreds of athletes across Canada to represent my country, which will be competing at the upcoming International University Sports Federation (FISU) Games in Kazan, Russia this summer. Next to the Olympics, the FISU games are the second largest amateur sporting event in the world.

To represent Canada at the FISU Games is a once in a life opportunity for me. As an aspiring professional soccer player, this will be the first time for me to play at a large-scale international level sporting event, compete against the best athletes in the world, as well as be scouted and recruited by top representatives in the business.

I have been training my entire life for an opportunity like this as it’s always been my dream to wear a Team Canada jersey. Finally this dream is becoming a reality.

How You Can Help:

The CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) is requiring all athletes to fund a total of $3500 for the trip. These costs will cover training fees, equipment, coach staff, flights, accomodation, etc.

As a full-time student athlete and a youth soccer coach on the side, this has created a financial commitment that is unrealistic for me to achieve without your help. Therefore I greatly appreciate all the help I can get as every contribution counts!

As a full-time student, an athlete, and a youth soccer coach, your help and financial support would mean the world to me in achieving my dream.
